The Growing Threat

Holister Redgrave

Captain of the Knights of Regemont, now appointed General of the kingdom’s army. A once-stern but friendly man, his dedication to the growing development of a standing army made him single-minded and obsessed, almost cruel. It was he that commanded Drake Longfellow be kept away, sent on useless missions lesser emissaries could handle.

Kerack Falriar

Mysterious ‘vizier’ to King Regemont. Rumored to be of Dark Elf descent, this shady creature appeared ten years ago, earning quick trust from the king and changing the landscape of magic use in the kingdom. Not much else is known, save the little details Bertrand gleaned from their spy in the castle.

Phenix

A Dark Elf assassin and cohort at one time to Bertrand Arramor, she is as beautiful as she is deadly. While her true intentions are unknown, she was critical to leaking knowledge of the plans of Holister and Kerack, leading to the events that unfolded in Darkness Calling. Like Kerack, her presence in the world is unexpected and foreboding, as Dark Elves have been exiled for millennia by the gods.

Derringer’s voice: Unidentified, this phantom speaker first connects with the half-orc, though nothing was given of hints of its owner.

Poidon Darkstar

An apparent companion to Kerack, this agile and frightening Dark Elf has incredible speed and a lengthy sword. Shrewd and cruel, he casts an ominous shadow, and his alliance with the wizard that sieged Regemont foretells a deeper connection to the events in Briee. Perhaps he holds more answers, should they survive the encounter.

Seath

One of Bertrand’s oldest friends, mysteriously old for a Human. But, unlike Decx Shiffley of Paz, his origin is known, or it was thought to be. What began as an assumption of his involvement is now clear, but what motivations drive him are unknown. What is obvious, however, is the brutality with which he kills, and an obsession with taunting the party.

Crimsonscale the Impure

One of three ancient dragons of the Old Age. It was thought all dragons were myths, as no evidence beyond speculation and thin historical references. Once unleashed, Crimson has his way with the world, destroying cities at a whim. However, his allegiance to the Master Wizard Darynn controls him, inciting questions about both the mystical beast and the fabled father of magic’s true origins.

The Lord of Spiders

A criminal syndicate lies hidden beneath Paz’s spectacular streets. As any city would, the bad element has its own family and leader. Known only as “The Lord of Spiders,” this supposed master of the underground is as much myth as legend, all based on conjecture. The followers are only recognized by their odd masks, splotched with black and white paint to frighten and conceal the identity of the wearer.

Darynn Ariso

Infamous Master Wizard whose past is as mysterious as his present doings. Historical record paints him as the father of modern magic, the founder of the schools spread across the world. However, it is written that several matching his description and whispered abilities are interspersed across the landscape of antiquity. Like Decx, it is rumored he is of advanced age, somehow able to beat back the inevitability of death.
